About Us
Our Aims
Chapter of Perinatal and Paediatric Pathology was started in year 2019, under the patronage of College of Pathology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia.
The main aims of our chapter are:

To be an association for perinatal and paediatric pathologists and trainees in Malaysia.

To inspire, encourage and empower pathologists with interest in perinatal and paediatric pathology to achieve their professional and personal goals.
-
To collaborate with similar bodies within and outside of Malaysia.
-
To promote and maintain the highest moral, ethical and professional standards in the practice of perinatal and paediatric pathology.
-
To represent, express and give effect to the views and opinions of its members.

To represent the members at all relevant committees and sub-committees of the College, the Academy, the Ministry of Health of Malaysia, the universities and other government and semi-government agencies, on matters related to perinatal and paediatric pathology.

To promote education and training in perinatal and paediatric pathology amongst pathologists, trainees and prospective trainees.

To promote scientific research in the science and art of perinatal and paediatric pathology amongst pathologists, trainees and prospective trainees.

To promote publications of scientific papers in the field of perinatal and paediatric pathology.

To conduct professional programmes and activities pertaining to perinatal and paediatric pathology.

To educate the public on the role of perinatal and paediatric pathologists in wellness and illness.
Core Activities
Correlating with our main aims listed above, our core activities include:

Workshops and webinars on recent updates in the field of perinatal, placental and paediatric pathologies.

Workshops and webinars on forensic perinatal and paediatric pathologies.

Development and review of national guidelines.

Training and support for new paediatric pathologists, perinatal pathologists and forensic paediatric pathologists.
-
To actively recruit paediatricians, paediatric pathologists from other units (ie. Paediatric haematologists/chemical pathologists) and associate professionals for an inclusive and more well-rounded effort to improve diagnostic services in perinatal & paediatric pathology.

The logo explains the gist of our academic and diagnostic works that starts from foetus life to adolescents under 18 years of age.
